How it works

From one capture to a brief your AI follows

No prompts to write and no screenshots to explain. Capture it, tap why, and your AI takes it from there.

Inspiration

Anything you see on the web, your AI can follow.

Capture from any site. Hand the brief to Claude Code, Cursor, v0, Lovable, Bolt or ChatGPT.

Why it works

AI can't tell which part you liked.

01Without Tastify, your AI guesses

You liked the headline and said “make it look like this”. Nothing says which part you meant, so the AI went for the loudest thing on the page.

02You tap the part you meant

Tastify asks what you like about this exact capture, in plain words. One tap on the headline, no design vocabulary needed.

03It reads the real values

Size, case, tracking and colour come straight off the page while you’re there, so the brief says 50px and tight, not “a nice serif”.

04It says what to leave out

Every inspiration in the brief lists what not to take, so the red cover stays on Kinfolk’s page and out of yours.

05So your AI takes just that

Same screenshot, same AI. With the brief, it takes the headline, in your colours, and nothing else.

Capture

Capture anything. One hotkey, four ways.

Press Alt ⇧ S on any site and pick part of the page, the whole page, an image or an animation. The extension reads the real fonts, colours, spacing and timing while it's there.

Part of a pageDrag over the headline, a card, a footer: just the bit you like.On mrandmrssmith.com the wheel opens, Part of page is picked, a box is dragged over the serif headline (406 × 336), it flashes, and the popup says Saved to Inbox and asks what drew you in.
The whole pageIt scrolls a screen at a time and stitches one tall picture. On craft.do the wheel opens and Whole page is picked; a glowing outline frames the window while it scrolls six screens, counting 1 of 6 to 6 of 6, says Putting the page together, flashes, and the six screens fly into one tall picture: 1024 × 6000.
An imageRight-click any picture: Save image with Tastify. Or hover it and press the hotkey. On landonorris.com the portrait is right-clicked; the browser menu shows Save image with Tastify; it's picked, the picture flashes, and the popup says Saved to Inbox.
An animationStart, play it, stop. You keep the frames and the real timing. On igloo.inc the wheel opens and Animation is picked; the recorder pill says Start, then Recording 0:00 to 0:03 while the igloo animates, then Stop and Saving the frames; eight captured frames slide in.

Say why

Tap what you like. Skip the paragraph.

A screenshot shows your AI what you saw, not what you liked about it. Saying why is what makes it useful, and almost nobody types it out. Tastify asks four short questions written for that exact capture, starting with what drew you in.

Typing it outWith Tastify

Hand it over

One sentence in. A brief your AI follows.

Pick the inspirations for this project and say what comes from where. Tastify sets what each one is used for, then writes the brief with your picks and the page's real values.

  • Structure, look, feel or motion, set per inspiration from your sentence. Change any with a tap.
  • DESIGN.md or SKILL.md for Claude Code and Cursor, a short prompt for v0, Lovable and Bolt.
  • refs/sheet.jpg: every picture on one sheet, numbered as in the brief.
  • Same idea, your colours: your brand is used unless you say copy exactly.
Your boards

Briefs your AI can actually follow. And a taste it remembers.

Real values where they matter, your brand everywhere else, and a profile that grows with every capture.

Motion, measuredRecord an animation and your AI gets its real timing, not “make it smooth”. Linear's hero, replayed from the values Tastify measured.Linear's headline and subline fade up from a blur, replayed; a playhead runs along a 1.6 second timeline while the measured values appear: from opacity 0, blur 10px, 20% lower; delays 400 and 600 ms; 1000 ms each; cubic-bezier(0.25, 0.1, 0.25, 1), drawn as a curve.
Real values, not vibesThe page's own font, size, spacing and colours, read while you capture. On granola.ai the cursor rests on the headline and its values come out: quadrant, regular; 76.8 on 71.4px; tracking −0.02em; colour #292929.
A brief per projectOne board, many projects. Save which inspirations each one uses, and export its brief in a tap.One board of six inspirations with three saved selections. Landing page numbers four of them, Pricing three others, Onboarding two; the rest fade back.
Your taste, learnedEvery answer adds up to a profile, with the captures behind each line. Hide anything, or mark it not you.The taste profile: 'Leans airy, soft and rounded', with lines such as lots of room around headlines (7 references), corners of 16 to 24px on cards (5) and slow fades of about 500 ms (4), each with thumbnails of the captures behind it.
Claude Code reads your tasteConnect once over MCP. When colour, type or spacing isn't specified, it asks for your profile before choosing.A terminal: claude mcp add adds the tastify server; then in Claude Code, 'Build the pricing section. Use my taste.' Claude calls get_taste_profile from tastify, reads 'Leans airy, soft and rounded', and answers with lots of room around the headline, 20px corners on the plan cards and a 500 ms fade.

Questions

Good to know.

Which AI tools does the brief work with?+

Any tool that takes text and images: Claude Code and Cursor read DESIGN.md or SKILL.md from your project, v0, Lovable and Bolt take the short prompt, and ChatGPT or Claude take the chat version with the screenshots attached.

Do I have to write anything?+

No. Every question is multiple choice, written for the exact thing you captured, starting with how it feels. There is an optional field when you want your own words.

Will my AI copy the reference's colours?+

Only if you ask it to. By default each inspiration is taken as “same idea, my colours”: the brief passes on the technique and uses your brand. Upload your brand files once and the colours and type are filled in for you.

Can it capture animations?+

Yes. Pick Animation on the wheel, press Start, play it, press Stop. Tastify keeps the frames and records the real duration, easing and stagger from the page.

What if two references disagree?+

Tastify checks before you export and asks which one to follow, or to keep both and let the AI balance them, with a picture of each option.

Which browsers?+

Chrome. Other Chromium browsers such as Edge and Brave load it the same way.
